Using Visual Basic 6 for TCP/IP data exchange
You can use the Impact TCP/IP tool for quick and easy communication with a Visual Basic application using a Microsoft Winsock control. This example creates a VB application which sends data to the vision device. This triggers a vision program containing a TCP/IP tool when the vision device detects the TCP/IP event. The TCP/IP tool then sends data back out to the VB application.
Note: The default AIT root distribution folder for this application is: /Datalogic/IMPACT/AIT/Data Exchange/TCPIP
Note: If you receive the following error message when you attempt to run any of the included sample files,
Component 'MSWINSCK.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid
you need to install the Visual Basic 6.0 Run-time Files that include the file MSWINSCK.OCX.
This AIT example contains two parts.
Part 1 has instructions to create a VB application to send data to the vision device.
Part 2 explains how to add the ability to receive data from the vision device into the VB application.
Part 1 - Create a connection and send data to the Datalogic device
Part 2 - Create a listener to receive data from the Datalogic device
